ABOUT TOMMY
My name is Tom, also known as Tommy. I’m a former British Paratrooper.
During my service, I completed Op Herrick 13 in Afghanistan, helped secure the 2012 Olympics, and fought and coached on the 3 PARA Boxing Team winning the Army Major Units Tournament in both 2011 and 2012.
Since leaving the Parachute Regiment, I have struggled with my mental health, as well as alcoholism and addiction. I use physical training and talking to help manage all my symptoms and take great pride in helping others manage their struggles using the same approach drawing from my past experiences, along with the knowledge and qualifications I’ve gained over the years.
Suicide awareness is also very close to my heart, in both men and women, after losing my mum to suicide at a young age and from experiencing my own struggles with mental health. If it wasn’t for physical training and exercise, my life would be very different, to say the least. I honestly believe that if my mum had found physical training and exercise, she may have been able to manage her mental health in a more productive and positive way.
I personally use Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and CrossFit to manage my mental health and physical well-being these days, but I’ve used many different styles over the years—boxing, trail running, mountain biking, to name a few. With over 20 years’ experience in the fitness industry, I can create and personalise any training program to suit any person’s training style, along with nutritional guidance to achieve the best results.
We can talk, we can train, and we can turn pain into gains whether it be mental or physical training for quality of life and longevity.
We can take it slow, with a “smooth is fast” approach, using low-intensity training to build confidence and encourage rehabilitation.
We can go in hard, fast, and aggressive with higher-intensity sessions, encouraging a “ready for anything” approach with sport-specific and competition programming.
We can mix all of these training styles as needed, at any time creating your very own safe space to train, with no pressure or judgment.
All subscriptions allow up to two people, which is perfect for accountability. You’ll get up to 3 weekly PT sessions (depending on the package), which helps build routine. You’ll also receive a gym program to follow in your own time, and a nutrition guide with ongoing support and check-ins to help create consistency.
